New Camaldoli Hermitage announces an upcoming retreat "Cathedral and Cloud: Imagination and Unknowing," with the Rev. Suzanne Guthrie and Father Robert Hale in Big Sur, California on February 20-22, 2015. Space is limited, and early reservations are suggested.

Explore approaches to the Divine through metaphor and analogy, form and formlessness, imaging and un-imaging that touchs on the use of medieval monastic memory palaces, as well as the Cloud of Unknowing and John of the Cross. There will be opportunity for questions and discussion.

The Rev. Suzanne Guthrie is an Episcopal priest, retreat director, author, and the curator of "Soulwork Toward Sunday," a weekly self-guided retreat found online at www.edgeofenclosure.org. She lives in Woodstock, New York. Father Robert Hale is a Camaldolese monk, priest, author, former professor at the Graduate Theological Union and prior at Incarnation Monastery and New Camaldoli. He lives at New Camaldoli Hermitage in Big Sur.
