The Trinity Spirits co-ed Softball team held a special blessing for their mitts to start their Spring/Summer church league season off right.  The Very Rev. Brian Baker blessed the mitts with a special prayer written by the Rev. Canon Grant Carey as team members held them high up in the air during the 9am service at Trinity Cathedral (pictured right to left, team members Kelly Dunlap, Joel Erb, Becca Redmond and Kara Chase).  The team plays every Tuesday night at Grant Park in midtown - C and 21st Streets (click here for a map). Come out and cheer us on in the stands! Game times will be listed in future e-news and posted on the Trinity Cathedral website, www.trinitycathedral.org.

A Blessing for Baseball Mitts, by the Rev. Canon Grant Carey

As we thank you, Lord, for the gift of hands that enable us to reach out and catch the opportunities that come our way: so also do we ask your blessing on these softball mitts to be used by members of our Trinity Softball Team; grant that these mitts may serve to protect as well as to enable those who wear them to play the game with skill and honor, as you have taught us so to play the Game of Life. Keep our players from harm, and grant us all the skill that enables us to catch the opportunities that come our way.

All this we ask in the Name of the Manager of our Team, Jesus.
