  • A summary of the 2019 Diocesan Convention

    The 2019 Diocesan Convention was held Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Nov 7-9, at the McClellan Conference Center in Sacramento. Delegations from most of our churches gathered for three days of worship, fellowship and business in this important annual event in the governance of our diocese. Day One: Blessings, arrival and EucharistAs one came into the convention space, there was a font of water placed to remind us of our baptism and our baptismal ministry.

    From John Miller, Chair of the Nominations Committee It is my great honor to announce to you that the diocese has received 31 nominations for our Nov. 7-9 Diocesan Convention, and that all five elections scheduled have enough candidates to be contested. Because of this, we will not need a second period of reopened nominations this year.

    Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, at Trinity Cathedral's Vigil of Lament and Hope: Prayers for the victims of gun violence, Bishop Megan shared a message of lament and hope to welcome the attendees and set the tone for the service. You can read that message below: Friends, Tonight, we grieve again as deadly gun shots have rung out across our country in the short span of a week.
