  • Special Advent Message From the Bishop

Dear Friends in Christ, Grace and peace to you, and blessings as we enter the Season of Advent. I hope that your Thanksgiving is joyous, and both a happy reminder of God's providence and an encouragement to have effective compassion for those in need. Advent now invites us to prepare to receive Christ, by choosing the way of His Light, in a world that also contains darkness.

  • A Christmas Message from the Bishop

Dear Friends in Christ: Grace and peace to you. Archbishop Rowan Williams describes waiting as "the boring bit before the exciting bit." I hope that your Advent has been more than simply boring; I hope that it has helped to awaken hope for you, a hope that Christmas now comes to fulfill. These may not seem to be hopeful times.

  • A Thanksgiving Message from the Bishop

Dear Friends In Christ: Grace and peace to you, as you prepare for our great national day of Thanksgiving. I pray that, whether or not it involves family, friends and feasting for you, it will be a day of special awareness of the loving providence of God throughout your life. As we pause to give thanks for God's great blessings, let us also remember those for whom this is a time of loss, struggle and need.
