Bishop Beisner Returns to Hong Kong

Bishop Beisner Returns to Hong Kong

by The Episcopal Diocese of Northern California

Bishop Barry Beisner returned to Hong Kong shortly before Thanksgiving, for the ordination of the newly elected bishop of the Diocese of Eastern Kowloon, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Timothy Chi-pei KWOK.

Bishop Beisner was invited to represent The Episcopal Church at this ordination to strengthen the bounds of Communion. He presented the bishop-elect and the Diocese of Eastern Kowloon a gift from The Episcopal Diocese of Northern California, created by artist Kathrin Burleson. This icon of Christ Pantocrator was blessed at our 2014 Diocesan Convention in preparation for this special occasion.

The gift was received with joy and a spirit of friendship. Bishop Beisner is hopeful that this friendship with the Diocese of Eastern Kowloon and The Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui (The Hong Kong Anglican Church) will grow, and that opportunities for mutual service, education and fellowship will continue.
