On the morning of Sunday, February 19, volunteers who staff Trinity Thrift Shop in Folsom welcomed Bishop Beisner (pictured right with, l-r: John Mack, Sue Mack, Karin Breck, Graham Breck and Scott Pinney) as he offered a blessing for the newly refurbished and reopened shop. The Bishop was making his annual visit to Trinity Church in Folsom and was presiding over the morning’s three services as well.
It was a colorful and happy procession that made its way to the nearby Thrift Shop following the 9 am service. The Bishop was assisted by the Ven. Cookie Clark, the Rev. Pat Kempster and Trinity’s Interim Rector, the Rev. Michael Kerrick. The Bishop blessed the various rooms of the shop and then joined key members of the renovation team for a ribbon cutting.
All of the labor and building supplies needed throughout the renovation were generously donated. The shop has been serving the community from its site at the corner of Wool and Mormon Streets in Old Town Folsom for nearly 50 years. It focuses on quality clothing for men, women, children and teens, and also carries small household goods. The shop holds a semi-annual outdoor alley sale, with the next sale scheduled for Saturday, March 17.
