My name is Bobbi Yeo and I am the Canon for Administration and Finance. I have responsibility for accounting and finance, human resources, computer/information technology, diocesan group benefits, diocesan and church audits, property and liability insurance programs, and diocesan-owned properties.
I am a CPA and have spent most of the past 22 years directing the operations of non-profits. I earned a degree in business with an emphasis in accounting from Montana State University in Bozeman. While a student I was employed as the bookkeeper for my church. Subsequent to that I moved to Sacramento and participated on the Finance Committee of my church. I understand firsthand the financial challenges faced by churches.
I began employment with the Diocese in August, 2007. I am fortunate to work with a group of dedicated professionals who want to provide the best possible services to our congregations. Our focus is on supporting healthy congregations. My perspective is holistic and includes an array of administrative and financial components in addition to pastoral and programmatic essentials that we see on the surface. A church that cannot meet its basic financial obligations will not succeed over the long haul no matter how beautiful the liturgy is.
We strive to maintain openness and transparency in our operations. I rely on our board and council members as well as members at large throughout the Diocese to assist with evaluating our administrative and financial programs. Together we make the decisions that affect all of us. The committees and boards I staff include: Board of Directors, Diocesan Council, Foundation, Budget, Apportionment, Audit Committee, Employee Practices and Benefits Committee, Property, Project Review, and the Trustees of the Endowment and Memorial Trust.
I am the luckiest person I know because I get to share my life with Dave Yeo, the best husband in the world. We have a two year old terrier named Yosemite Sam who is a nut, and a much more mature 26 year old Appaloosa Thoroughbred named Tricky. We love these members of our family very much. Dave and I are members of Trinity Cathedral in Sacramento.
