My name is Cassie Bangerter and I serve as Controller for The Episcopal Diocese of Northern California, working as needed in the Accounting department of the Office of the Bishop. I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management Economics, with an emphasis in accounting, from the University of California in Santa Cruz.
My career began in public accounting at Grant Thornton, LLP in San Francisco and Fort Lauderdale/ Miami offices. My experience extends to various industries, with a specialty in financial services and non-profit.
I am the Vice President and a Shareholder of the firm, Utonomy, Inc. Utonomy started working with the Diocese in Fall of 2007 to help with the transition of accounting and administration staff. We have continued on to serve the Diocese as a partner in establishing transparent financial reporting, efficient processes, and sound internal controls.
I have been involved with the Diocese since Fall 2007. My role has adapted to all necessary stages of change/ transition. I enjoy working with the Diocese because there are so many opportunities to help others.
