Celebration of New Ministry in Elk Grove

St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Elk Grove will hold a Celebration of New Ministry for our new Priest-in-Charge, the Rev. Anne Largent Smith on On Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 7:00 p.m., with Bishop Barry Beisner presiding. The Rev. Richard Burden, Rector of All Saints Parish in Brookline, Massachusetts, will be the guest preacher.

The rehearsal for all participants will be at 6:00 p.m. and the service will start at 7:00 p.m., and the vesting color is red. The service will be held outside on the front lawn, with a reception following.

The Rev. Anne received her Master of Divinity degree from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific (CDSP) and was ordained in 2010. She has served The Episcopal Diocese of San Joaquin at parishes in Lodi and Stockton, as a member of the Diocesan Commission on Ministry, as deputy (alternate) to General Convention, as deanery president and on the Board of Examining Chaplains.

The Rev. Anne Largent Smith has been married for 17 years. Her husband is a Professor of Political Science at the University of the Pacific. They have two daughters, ages 5 and 12. Rev. Anne started her service with us on Christmas Eve 2014, and we look forward to this service to formally recognize our new and joyous relationship with her.
