Central Deanery Holds First Convocation

by the Very Rev. Cliff Haggenjos of St. John's in Roseville

Thirty five members of the Central Deanery met in convocation for the first time on Saturday, June 16th at St. John's Roseville. Carlton Allen (St. Augustine's Rocklin) was elected to represent the deanery on the new Board of Trustees. In addition, Mason Haggenjos (St. John's Roseville) was elected the youth representative from the deanery for the upcoming diocesan convention (Nick Des Rosier, St. John's Roseville was elected alternate), and Sarah Quinney (St. Augustine's Rocklin) was elected the Young Adult representative to the convention.

Joyce Paterson, an alternate delegate to the General Convention brought us all up to speed on the voluminous work required of the delegates as the prepare to head off to Indianapolis. Time was also spent brainstorming and surfacing ideas of how our various congregations might work together and serve as resources for one another as we begin to live into the life of our new deanery. All left with a spirit of hope, cooperation and a sense of developing purpose. It was a morning well spent!
