Diocesan Partners in Ministries of Health

by Diocesan Partners in Ministries of Health

The mission of the Diocesan Partners in Ministries of Health is, in part, "...to bring ministries of health and healing to local parishes..." Recently, the Partners met and shared some of their service projects. A sampling of those mentioned were:

The Rev. Art Lillicropp, Director of Spiritual Care at Kaiser South Sacramento, inspired us with an opening meditation on seeing the Jesus within. He also shared development of a new Music Ministry and he shared that the “No One Dies Alone” program continues successfully at the facility. For more information, please contact the Rev. Lillicropp via phone at 916-688-6488 or via email at Arthur.R.Lillicropp@kp.org.

HIV/AIDS Partner, Alva Kennedy, continues to speak at Sacramento schools on being a parent of a child who died from AIDS and emphasizes HIV/AIDS prevention.

Becky Hudak shared her vision of starting a “Living Compass” (a wellness program) for Young Adults at her home parish of Faith Church, Cameron Park.

The Rev. Anne McKeever leads the Recovery Ministries for the diocese and has plans to provide a  Recovery Week-end with liturgy, sermons and resources incorporated at all services on September 14 -15, 2013. Everyone in the diocese is invited to come and experience these liturgies and take back Recovery Ministry resources for their congregations. For more information, please contact the Rev. McKeever at Trinity Cathedral, Sacramento via phone at 530-908-3616 or via email at amckeever@wavecable.com.

The Rev. Aileen Aidnik R.N. has been trained and is beginning a Health Ministries/Parish Nurse ministry at St. Francis, Fair Oaks. Aileen shared that she obtained a grant from Episcopal Community Services to provide a stipend and resources to begin these ministries. In the above picture Aileen was presented a multi-cuffed blood pressure set as a congratulations gift from the Diocesan Partners in Ministries of Health.
