ECS 2016 Letters of Interest Due in March

ECS 2016 Letters of Interest Due in March

by Betty Harrison Smith, Board of Directors, Episcopal Community Services

Episcopal Community Services is in the process of planning for its 2016 grant cycle. In order to help make your grant application successful, we are requesting that, if you are considering asking for a grant this year, you precede your formal grant application with an informal Letter of Interest. This process will help us to plan for the year and enable us to offer targeted ways to assist you. Letters of Interest are due by March 15, 2016.

A Letter of Interest should include the following:

1. The focus of the ministry in one or more of the following three areas:
a). Human rights advocacy
b). Human services or heal programs (outreach)
c). Lay leadership/empowerment programs
Please identify the ministry category and describe in one paragraph your focus activity.

2. In one paragraph, describe the need for this ministry. What do you want to accomplish?

3. Indicate the amount of your planned request (up to $5,000).

Although not mandatory for consideration of your subsequent grant application, those congregations submiting a Letter of Interest will receive priority during the grant application process. Your letter should include endorsement of the clergy in charge or the Senior Warden. The letter is due by March 15, 2016.
