Embracing the "All" in Our Welcome

Embracing the "All" in Our Welcome

I find myself once again concerned about the emotional well being of our church. Although I am pleased with the direction the Church is taking to activate our Baptismal Covenant and to follow Jesus' example of love and acceptance, I am concerned for those who find the change in the Church painful and bewildering. My prayer is that those who celebrate the changes will show compassion and love to those who find them very difficult.

We must all remember what we are about in our church, to love one another, welcome the stranger and share the Good News of Jesus Christ (his redemption and salvation.) And again I remind us all that as Jesus showed us, that all are welcome, He meant ALL, even those who are different than we are but also those who believe differently than we do.

Faithfully,

The Rev. Canon Stephen Carpenter
