Any ordination is a wonderful celebration, not only for the one being ordained, but for the church and the congregation in which it takes place. There were a couple of things that made the July 9, 2011 ordination of the Rev. Gregg Nolta so special to Holy Trinity, Willows. As a Total Ministry (TM) congregation, the TM team carried out their ministries in the planning and execution of the service. Lectors and the intercessor were part of the TM team. Willows has not had a resident priest since Father Bart Kendrick was called to another church almost 30 years ago.
"Saints Alive," a lay music ministry from All Saints' Episcopal Church in Redding provided the beautiful music.
During the Prayer of consecration, Bishop Beisner asked for local pastors from other faith traditions to join in the laying on of hands. It was a very moving and significant act.
