Integrity Hosts California Freedom Tour

Integrity Hosts California Freedom Tour

by Steve Skiffington, of Trinity Cathedral Sacramento

Integrity of Northern California has long been a voice for full inclusion of Lesbian, Gay, Transgendered and Bisexual people (LGBT) in the Episcopal Church. We spend a lot of time on education and outreach both within and without the church, but sometimes we just like to kick back and have a good time, and this is one of those times. We are excited to partner with the Sacramento Gay and Lesbian Center to bring the world famous  San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus to Sacramento as they premiere the new Harvey Milk Anthem, Give ‘em Hope!

The chorus, one hundred and fifty voices strong, is known for their varied repertoire as well as for their show-stopping productions. This show, The California Freedom Tour, will include music from such Broadway hits as Godspell, Wicked, Hairspray and more. As it has been said, “No one does Broadway like the Boys!” A special appearance will be made by our own Sacramento Gay Men’s Chorus. Prior to the full concert at Trinity Cathedral, the chorus will be making a brief appearance on the steps of the Capitol at four o’clock.

Tickets are available on line at www.saccenter.org/sfmenschorus, but you can also get them at Trinity’s Cathedral Bookshop (916.446.2513). Tickets for the 8pm performance are $35 reserved, $25 general, $40/$30 at the door, and $10 students/seniors. The cathedral only sits about 300 and we fully expect this to be a sell-out performance.
