Lama Marut at Trinity Cathedral

This Saturday, June 2nd, at 7:30pm, I will be welcoming my friend Lama Marut back to Trinity Cathedral. Lama Marut and I have been giving talks together since 2008. We first met when I was speaking in New York City with another Tibetan Buddhist monk. Lama Marut travels through Sacramento at least one each year, and when he is in town, we speak together.

My involvement in interfaith teaching began in Sun Valley, Idaho, where I would teach regularly with the local Rabbi and a Tibetan Buddhist. These teachings have been very beneficial for my own spiritual growth. They have forced me to articulate my faith in a way that makes sense to people who are not Christian. They have also invited me to ponder alternative worldviews. My own Christianity has grown deeper, while at the same time I have learned from the valuable insights of other world religions.
