Lifelong Christian Formation

The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,
until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God,
to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ.
Ephesians 4:11-13

There Is a Lot of Good News Here!

Good news is important, because the ministry work to which we all are called can feel overwhelming, given the needs of the world and our communities, the stressed busyness of many of our lives, and the quickly shifting contexts that requires a lot of adaptation.

- We are not in this work of ministry alone.
- Each person’s gifts come from Christ, and each person is crucial to the work and growth of the body of Christ.
- Even if we don’t feel equal to that work, we are created to learn, and to learn from each other, and we are part of a community where someone else can likely help you in that learning.
- The body of Christ includes the fantastic and beautiful diversity of our own diocesan community, and it extends beyond us too: across the country, the world, even across centuries.

I hope that in these pages, you’ll find valuable ideas and wisdom from all kinds of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, as we undertake our lifelong work of growing as Christians together. I also hope that this online network will be one way for us to begin strengthening and growing our embodied connections to each other- I anticipate that it will eventually contain a lot more of our own stories from Northern California.

Most of all, I hope that I can be a helpful companion and connector for the work of all of us who make up the body of Christ here in Northern California. As the Lifelong Christian Formation Coordinator, I am here to support ministry with people of all ages and in all contexts. If you need help sifting through resources or adapting them, if you have a new idea or ministry that needs support, or if you feel stuck or overwhelmed, please give me a call!
