President Sue Corbin, Chaplain Anne McKeever, Vice President Mary Mussell and Secretary Nancy Wyant (pictured left to right) of the Diocese of Northern California's assembly of Daughters of the King (DOK), attended the DOK Province VIII Retreat at the Mercy Center in Burlingame August 26 through 28. "Meeting in the Heart of Jesus -- Community Across the Miles" was the retreat's theme, led by the Rev. Dr. Jane Tomaine, author of St. Benedict's Toolbox: Nuts and Bolts of Benedictine Living. The Rt. Rev. Diane Jardine Bruce, Suffragan Bishop of the Diocese of Los Angeles, provided energetic and compassionate liturgical support, as well as non-stop wittiness. Bishop Diane is the first member of the Daughters of the King to be elected bishop. Our diocesan DOK officers look forward to sharing the community-building skills they gained at the retreat.
