Bloomfield Hills rector to lead Washington National Cathedral

The head of the biggest Episcopal church in Michigan is to become the public voice of the Washington National Cathedral, considered America's house of worship.
The Rev. Gary Hall, the rector at Christ Church Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills, was named Tuesday the dean and CEO of the cathedral, the seat of the Episcopal Church and site of such national religious events as the funerals of Presidents Ronald Reagan and Gerald R. Ford and services following the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. Hall, 62, is expected to start in his new role in October.
