Success! St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church, Rocklin, has exceeded its $500,000 goal toward the estimated $1.3-$1.5 projected budget to build our first church.
The total amount pledged is $502,117.33, an amazing sum for our congregation and one that continues to grow.
The commitments made for this campaign are for a three year period and will bridge the difference between our current rent payments and our anticipated mortgage payments.
Led by consultant George Golden and Pastor Liz Armstrong, St. Augustine’s Capital Campaign involved the whole congregation. Each person prayerfully sought God’s help and guidance in deciding on pledge amounts. The theme, “not equal gifts…but equal sacrifice,” encouraged a willingness to stretch and to give.
Ground breaking for the new building will take place in January, 2013, with completion expected in June, 2013.
