The Sacramento Superior Court, in conjunction with the California Judges Foundation, is sponsoring the First Annual Sacramento Court-Clergy Conference on Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Clergy leaders of all faiths are welcome to join local judges and justices in a day devoted to a myriad of issues at the intersection of religion and law.

Cost: $10.00 donation suggested; includes snacks and lunch

Attendance is limited to 100 persons to facilitate conversation, so it is important to register as soon as possible. A donation ($10.00) is suggested. A morning snack with coffee, lunch and afternoon snack will be included.

Topics that are scheduled for the event include: A View from Both Sides; Many Faiths, One America; Did His Neurons Make Him Do It? Morality, Free-will, and the Brain and The Clergy’s Role for the Aging Parishioner. The presentations will encourage participation and comment from all registrants.

This conference mirrors what has been done annually in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco and San Jose. It is a unique opportunity for clergy and judges to interact and share perceptions on engaging topics that impact their professional and vocational lives.
