Saint Mary’s Seder Dinner

Saint Mary’s Seder Dinner

by Mary Ann Renzi

Come to St. Mary’s Elk Grove, 9085 Calvine Road, for their fourth annual Seder dinner. In recent years the Christian community has begun to re-enact early Bible teachings leading to the birth and life of Jesus Christ with a Christian Seder. We relive this early history at Saint Mary’s as we enjoy a five course Kosher style dinner including Matzo Ball Soup and barbequed lamb. This year, The Detours, a fabulous and energetic local band, will play Jewish inspired songs. The children will scatter looking for any food that may contain yeast. They will scurry between tables pretending to be one of the ten plagues. We will all wait to see if Elijah will be a guest at our Seder. Each of us will have a Seder plate filled with symbolic foods and four small glasses of wine or grape juice. This symbolism helps us to better understand early traditions.

Appetizers will be served on the patio at 5:30 PM with the Seder beginning at 6:00 PM. The cost is $15 for adults and $5 for children. Child care will be available. Please call the Church office at 916.689.1099 for tickets.

When: April 1, 2012
