Special Advent Message From the Bishop
Dear Friends in Christ,
Grace and peace to you, and blessings as we enter the Season of Advent.
I hope that your Thanksgiving is joyous, and both a happy reminder of God's providence and an encouragement to have effective compassion for those in need. Advent now invites us to prepare to receive Christ, by choosing the way of His Light, in a world that also contains darkness. We are invited to be His partners in shining and spreading that Light, which the darkness has not and will not overcome.
We find ourselves living in times when the work of Advent seems especially urgent. We must hold on to the promise of the constancy and ultimate victory of the divine Light. We must make ourselves more available to God, so that we might better see and shine the Light in our lives, and the lives of those near to us. We must join with others to increase Christ's light throughout the world. We must do His work, as we await the day of His coming.
May God bless you in this holy season, and may the Light of Christ shine more brightly in us all.
Yours in Christ,
+Barry
