On Tuesday, October 11, St. Patrick's, Kenwood held a special party for its congregants who are 90 years or better. They sent out 27 invitations, and 18 of those congregants were able to attend.

Rich Randolph escorted some of the attendees to the party in his 1920s Model T Ford, and later gave others trips around the parking lot. Dorothy Pierce and Diane Melder played 1920s music - one piano and four hands.

Many other members of the parish helped with the party, which was sponsored by the Sunshine Committee. The goal of the Sunshine Committee is to bring sunshine into people's lives by sending cards, visiting, making phonecalls, offering transportation to those who are housebound and of course, putting on parties!

The last party like this was held about 10 years ago and sponsored by the Episcopal Church Women.

I like this idea and hope that maybe St. John's Roseville can do likewise as we have many in this very special group. Thank YOU for sharing. Shalom JO
