My name is Thea Mangels and I am the Executive Assistant to the Bishop. I am a lifelong Episcopalian. I have a degree in history from the University of California at Davis. I have been involved in ministry in the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California in many different ways. In my home parish, St. George’s in Carmichael, I have served as an Acolyte and as Acolyte Coordinator, as a vestry member, as senior warden, as a choir member, and as a member of the evangelism committee. In the diocese I have served in youth and young adult ministries, as a deputy to general convention, on Diocesan Council, and on the Millennium Development Goals Task Force.
I served in the Admin & Finance Department for four years. Before that, I worked as a temp at the Office of the Bishop helping with office needs and working on the Visioning Conference. I worked as the Office Manager and News Editor in 2012.
Bishop Beisner asked me to fill the position of Executive Assistant on the departure of Jenifer Campo. I began this new ministry on September 5, 2012.
