by Gaye Ann McWade of the Commission of Women’s Ministries
Bishop Barry Beisner has blessed September 2, 2012 as our Women’s Ministries Annual Appeal Day.
It’s appropriate that this Sunday is in the Labor Day weekend. Many stories can be told of our Northern California Episcopal women, faithful laborers both past and present. Our congregations depend on these gracious women who are doing the work of the church and reaching out in their communities. The Commission of Women’s Ministries’ work is to support and serve these woman through education, encouragement, and grant funds for outreach in their communities.
This annual appeal is the source of these grant funds. Please consider giving generously.
We have themed both the appeal day and the follow up Women’s Gathering Day on September 22: Celebrate The Capable Woman! These words are highlights from Proverbs 31:10, “Who can find a capable woman? She is more precious than jewels.”
Informational envelopes have been mailed to each rector at each congregation. Please post our announcements, share our fliers, tell our story, and give generously to Women's Ministries.
