Asunción Ferrer is the new Receptionist and Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Bishop. She enjoys working in positive and supportive atmospheres where there is a culture of belonging and purpose. She feels that the Office of the Bishop has all these attributes.

She is a professional translator in Spanish and English and also speaks Italian.

Asunción’s passion is Italian and French opera, and travelled extensively with her now deceased tenor husband to four continents. One of the most thrilling places she visited was Cairo, Egypt, where her husband sang the leading role in the “bigger than life” production of Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida at the Pyramids of Giza.

A curious note about her life in Sacramento is that her favorite opera is Giacomo Puccini’s The Girl of the Golden West (La fanciulla del West). It is a story set during the California Gold Rush that mainly explores the theme of redemption. The male character happens to be from Sacramento!

Asunción lives with her spoiled Aussiedoodles, Shully and Poochini. She enjoys swimming, writing, learning the latest technology, listening to music, and keeping up with her nephew’s international symphonic conducting career.
