Alan Rellaford has had a nearly forty-year career in corporate branding, advertising, graphic design, event production, and higher education. A graduate of California State University, Chico, he worked for leading firms in San Francisco and Los Angeles, working with clients around the world. In 1997, he returned to Chico State as an adjunct, teaching design and communications for twenty years, and serving as Creative Director, from 2007 to 2017. He also has a successful freelance business, working primarily with non-profit clients doing design and event production.
A lifelong Episcopalian, he is active at St. John the Evangelist Church in Chico, where he serves as Senior Warden of the vestry, produces the livestream of worship services, and sings in the choir. In addition, he has served as a street pastor, ministering to the homeless and college students of Chico, and as a short-term missionary in Zaire (Democratic Republic of the Congo) and Kenya. He also serves as a volunteer hospital chaplain for Enloe Medical Center in Chico. He also serves on the board of the Chico Concours D’Elegance, and is an SCCA Certified concours judge. He and his wife Daria live in Paradise with two cats and two dogs.
He is also a 2021 graduate of the ASU Best Skills, Best Churches program, with a certificate in Non-profit management, and serves as the Manager of the 2021 Diocesan Convention.
