The Episcopal Foundation of Northern California was established in 1983 to enhance the “financial vitality of our congregations and institutions.” Since 1992, the Foundation has facilitated over $36 million in gifts, and is currently working on a program to promote planned gifts. The Foundation also facilitates the Bishop’s Partnership Appeal. The bishop of the diocese is ex-officio the chair of the board of the Episcopal Foundation of Northern California. 2023 Bishop’s Partnership Book of Dreams
The 2023 Bishop’s Book of Dreams appeal is a collaborative year-end process designed to directly support some special ministries of our congregations and institutions of our diocese. The pages are filled with stories of Good News: the people of God are actively reaching out and helping others. I encourage you to support the Book of Dreams. 100% of what is raised goes straight to the designated recipients.
Over the past ten years, many ministries in our diocese have benefited from the partnership between the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California and the Episcopal Foundation of Northern California (EFNC). Some programs have diocesan-wide benefits; some are with international ministries, and others invest in more localized efforts.
This is a Partnership of people who love The Episcopal Church in Northern California. It is an opportunity to support the ministries and organizations we believe in and equip them for the future. When we give in this way, our Church becomes more vital and better able to reach out and engage in the work God calls us to do.
We are thrilled to share the 2023 Bishop’s Book of Dreams with you. The Book of Dreams briefly overviews dream projects and ministries across the diocese. Because this is an interactive book, you can click the “Give to this Dream” button on each page or click the play button to watch the videos. If you wish to support more than one dream Project/Ministry, you will need to complete a separate giving form for each one. We hope you will make a gift to these ministries – honor someone’s birthday, anniversary, or a special holiday, and join us in giving thanks to the Giver of all good news, Jesus Christ. When giving in honor of someone, you can download a gift card in English or Spanish to share with them.

Members of the Board of Directors of The Episcopal Foundation of Northern California are acknowledged leaders and have an understanding of stewardship, an interest in planned giving, a willingness to give active support to this ministry, and a commitment to attend necessary meetings and events.
Board Members represent all areas of our Diocese and bring a wealth of professional and volunteer expertise to this ministry.

Perry W. Polk
Vice President
The Rev. Perry W. Polk was reared in Waco, Texas.
He graduated from Baylor University with BBA majoring in economics. After a 20-year Air Force career, he settled in Fairfield. He retired as a school district Information Technology Director after 18.5 years and consulted for another five years.
Called to ordination in 2005, Rev. Perry began seminary at the Pacific School of Religion. At the end of his middle year, he chose to change denominations and seminaries. He earned an MDiv at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in May 2008. Rev. Perry was ordained Priest on June 13, 2009 and became an Associate Priest at Grace Church in Fairfield. After serving as Long-Term Supply Priest at Grace Church, on July 1, 2014 he became the Interim Rector and held that position until August 31, 2018. He holds an MBA from the University of Oklahoma and an MA in Pastoral Ministry from Northwest Nazarene. While an assistant professor of economics and management at the Air Force Academy, he worked on doctoral courses in finance and organizational behavior at the University of Colorado.
He is a member of the board of the Episcopal Foundation of Northern California and the Diocesan Commission on Canons and Constitution. He serves as the Squadron Commander of the Civil Air Patrol squadron at Travis AFB.
