2025 Convention Keynote Speaker
The Rt. Rev. Phyllis A. Spiegel
Bishop Spiegel was consecrated as the 12th Bishop of Utah in 2022. Her ministry centers on deepening discipleship through daily faith practices and advocating for the dignity of the unhoused and those living with mental illness.
Ordained in 2004, she has served congregations in Virginia and Ohio before being called to Utah. Her leadership is shaped by early work in grassroots organizing, international service in Kenya, and a decade of conservation education with her mother.
Bishop Spiegel holds degrees from Emory & Henry College and Virginia Theological Seminary. She lives in Utah with her beloved dog Samson and treasures visits with her daughter and son-in-law in England.

What are Regional Collaboration Round-Tables?
Our Deanery in-person Convocation is a wonderful opportunity not only to get to know each other but also to build ministry-based relationships among our congregations. We have diverse abilities, experiences, and programs that we want to be able to share with each other from Christian formation to community outreach, altar to gardens and beyond. At our in-person Convocation this October we will have some directed round-table discussion about the unique gifts and strengths each congregation brings to their deanery and where we might be able to support or collaborate with each other. These Regional Collaboration Round-Tables will generate ideas and connections, as well as provide information we can pass on to the Office of the Bishop to strengthen our parishes. For this event we will be coordinating facilitators to make the most of our discussion, and we look forward to our time together. – The Regional Collaboration Team
