Sherry Moved to Chico in January 2018 after raising her three children and having had the opportunity to live in several places throughout the U.S as a military spouse, the last being Charleston, SC. She joined St. John the Evangelist as a parishioner and volunteer, eventually becoming their part-time parish administrator. Her first day on the job solo was November 8th, 2018, the day of the Camp Fire in Paradise. She was introduced to the world of disaster relief and has been honing her experience with disaster resilience and capacity building ever since. She has enjoyed working with fellow members of the Diocesan Disaster Assistance Response Team and is looking forward to continuing the mission that grew from our involvement with the Camp Fire and other fire and weather-related events.
Sherry enjoys the beauty of the Chico community she lives in and takes advantage of the parks to walk and hike, is an avid British mystery reader and will spend a weekend trying to find out “who done it!”, and should she ever be missing… look no further than the coast, as she literally draws her strength and peace from watching waves roll in from the ocean or sailing on a sailboat!
