Track 1: A Perfect Storm: Mental Health in the Collision of Pandemics

The goal of these workshops are to explore how the COVID-19 Pandemic and the Systemic Racial Injustice Pandemic impact on mental health and learn strategies and resources for supporting faith communities, families, local communities and ourselves. In addition, we will explore what congregations are already doing to address mental health challenges and provide new resources to expand those ministries. The workshop are for lay people and clergy; the information will be relevant to anyone concerned with pastoral care of those affected by the mental health challenges of these colliding pandemics.

The Episcopal Church’s Becoming Beloved Community frames a path for Episcopalians to address racial injustice and grow as a community of healers, justice-makers, and reconcilers who share a passion for the dream of God. Where are you and your church in this lifetime journey as you learn, pray and act and then turn again to find a new revelation or challenge? Discover how the Becoming Beloved Community Labyrinth relates to your Baptismal vows. Hear how churches are telling the truth, proclaiming the dream, and following the Way of Love towards repairing the injuries to ourselves and our world.

Track 4: Living into our Baptism: Ancient/Future Formation for Baptismal Living
Presenter: Rev. Bryon Hansen
Download the workshop packet here
We cannot force Spiritual growth and vitality, however we know that God desires abundant and growing life for his followers. So, we can expect God is working to bring such vitality to our communities, if we can but cooperate. The Catechumenal process is precisely such an open door; it welcomes the work of the Holy Spirit consciously into the lives of new and long-term members. They embrace baptismal living. Lives are changed, communities are transformed and neighborhoods are helped. The process is drawn from the ancient pattern of formation for those seeking baptism. We use it for those seeking Baptism, Confirmation or Reaffirmation. It is for any person who is returning to a relationship with God in Jesus Christ. Millennials love its ancient/future flavor and seniors rejoice to find God has purpose and relationship for them still.
